Orbit Airlines is a fictional American airline in the Microsoft Flight Simulator series. It appears in FS2000, FS2002, FS2004, FSX, and MSFS 2020. Its appearance in FS2000 makes it one of the three oldest airlines in the series along with Gaia Airlines and World Travel Airlines. This also makes it the oldest airline to appear in MSFS 2020 along with World Travel Airlines. The airline's reputation was damaged after Orbit Air Flight 34s crash in Arizona which killed all of its passengers and crew. It was among the several fatal accidents the Airline experienced.

Accidents and Incidents[]

  • In the FSX Mission "Amsterdam-London Airline Run" Orbit Flight 293 (incorrectly named World Travel 293), a scheduled flight from Amsterdam to London in a Boeing 737, a passenger onboard suffers a heart attack, the aircraft Diverts and lands safely on Rotterdam
  • On October 4th 2016, Orbit Airlines flight 207 operated by a 737-800, was taking off from LAX airport when the right side engine failed on take off, the crew had passed V1 and the aircraft had no choice but to continue the takeoff, the captain initiated a mayday and returned to LAX and landed safely. None of the 270 passengers were injured. The engine failure was attributed to improper maintenance and repairs.
  • On July 3rd 2015, Orbit Air Flight 34 operated by a 747-400 flying out of Sky Harbor Airport lost control of the left side hydraulics due to an engine failure. The aircraft banked heavily to its right side and the pilots were unable to regain control of the aircraft, the 747 crashed sideways into a field and exploded, west of Avondale Arizona, all 400 passengers and 18 crew members were killed. The investigation concluded that improper maintenance and repair of the engine resulted in the crash.
